From the hill above our house, you can see the water pipe going down to it, and the hot water tank. The small pipe on the left is the pipe we used to pump water into our tank.

Some recreation – some of us went paintballing, using slingshots rather than the high pressure guns! By the way, is that a warrior from Braveheart?

Or is it Papa Smurf?

Our finished house, with windows! Even though this picture is in the sun, it rained most of the time we were there!

We had to split wood 2.5 hours per day!

I think, since it is snowing and hailing, we will make Isaac split the wood this time!

Clothes still need to be washed! Washboard and scrub!

To get the hard stains out, scrub the jeans over rocks right where the spring comes out!

To get hot water for laundry, we kept a constant fire going under these barrels! Take 5 gallons of hot water out, put 5 gallons of cold water back in the top for the next person!

Now carry (we weren't allowed to use our cars) the wet laundry back up the hill so you can hang it up to dry!

It was fun to have lots of kids come over and play at our house!

A family had to leave early, so this house became the kids' playhouse.

And there they are set up inside!

Time for a hike across the mountains!

Up hills and mountain trails!

Time to take a rest! It is still mostly up hill from here!

We love to hike!

Don't point that thing at me!

We have reached the summit! It is all downhill from here!

It was a steep climb down, especially knowing that we were going back the same way in about 2 hours!

We reached the mountain lake and could relax!

Abby spotted something!

A beautiful time at a mountain lake!

We saw an old abandoned mountain cabin out there. I wonder who lived here and why?
